Check out the new macam wiki! Hopefully this can become a useful tool for all users.

macam is a driver for USB webcams on Mac OS X. It allows hundreds of USB webcams to be used by many Mac OS X video-aware applications. The aim is to support as many webcams as possible.

In addition, macam also supports downloading of images from some dual-mode cameras. macam especially tries to support those cameras not supported by Apple or by their manufacturers.

Many MacBook Pro users have had a camera issue occurring on their notebook. The built-in camera on their MacBook Pro is not working properly. The camera is not functioning (even though the green indicator light may be on) when they're using programs such as FaceTime or Skype. While the built-in camera of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro may be sufficient for occasional use, those who undertake regular meetings or care more about how they look will want to move to.

Camera For Mac Pro

The iSight camera built into your MacBook Pro isn't just for corporate videoconferencing. Use it to take still employee photos for company badges or for any other pictures where a built-in webcam photo will suffice. The MacBook Pro comes with Photo Booth, a photo-capture program that's automatically configured for your iSight camera. To be honest for the people that are using Zoom for work or school meetings, it won't even matter. You can have the best 4K camera in your MacBook but the person on the other end of the Zoom call will have a low-grade camera and this is extremely common.
